New Playwrights Festival

About the New Playwrights Festival

The fourth annual New Playwrights Festival will take place at Pistarckle Theater, in Tillett Gardens, on Sunday, June 24th, at 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Earlier this year, Pistarckle issued a call for new never-produced or staged plays, written by Virgin Islands adults and youth, with entries reviewed by the Festival committee. During the NPF, there will be featured readings from amongst select chosen original drama and/or comedy plays that were submitted by Virgin Islands youth and adult playwrights.

In past years, select plays submitted to the NPF have progressed to a full onstage production at Pistarckle, including Alternative Facts by Matthew Hamilton-Kraft, Catch and Keep by Susan Hunter, and Sad Mangoes by Stacey A. Bryan.
